Anne Koch: overview / Editorial / Advertising / information

biography

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Dutch parents, Anne Koch’s dark yet playful aesthetic could be attributed to the fact that she was born on Halloween, yet she just as frequently credits her education in Europe, subsequent decade of nomadism, and eventual landing in New York City with her rescued German Shepherd, Sir William Sugarplum.

As a Production Designer in the world of fashion, Koch’s whimsical designs and ideas have been featured in Vogue Italia, Vogue Bambini, and Teen VogueVHarper’s Bazaar, Numéro, The New York Times, Elle, and Purple Magazine in collaboration with photographers such as Sebastian Kim, Alexei Hay, David Vasiljevic, Arthur Elgort, and Patrick Demarchelier.

Koch has designed sets for advertising clients ranging from Christian Dior to Intimissimi, Ann Taylor to Kate Spade and constructed entire new environments for the runway shows of Jen Kao and ThreeAsFour, not to mention Art Directing the Christian Dior Resort Collections in New York.  Previously, for two years, she was the textile designer and installation artist for fashion designers Ruffian and she has also designed rugs for John Galliano.

Additionally, Koch is an Artist in her own rite, creating all sensory experiences, performance and art-installations, utilizing the environment around her.  She has most recently performed her piece (eat) at Miami’s Art Basel and the Tate Modern in London, England, celebrating its Tenth Birthday, as well as "Energy Exchange" at BOFFO Building Fashion, NYC.
